Braised Tempeh with
Soy, Maple & Ginger

This easy slow-cooker tempeh recipe brings out rich, comforting flavours with minimal effort. The tempeh slowly absorbs a savoury-sweet tamari glaze infused with maple, sesame, garlic, and ginger - creating a tender, caramelized dish that’s perfect for meal prep or cozy weeknight dinners.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 block Noble Bean tempeh (240 g)

  • 2 tbsp tamari

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated

  • ¾ cup water

10 minutes prep +

cooking time : 3-4 hours at Low 

2 to 3 servings

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Cut the tempeh into cubes or larger slices.

2. In a small bowl, whisk together all ingredients.

3. Place the tempeh in the slow cooker and pour the mixture over it.

4. Cook on LOW for 3 to 4 hours, or on HIGH for 1½ to 2 hours, until the sauce is well reduced and the tempeh is tender and glazed.

5. Serve warm - or store for quick meals throughout the week.
Delicious over warm rice, noodles, or in a veggie bowl with steamed greens and a drizzle of extra sauce.
