Tempeh Tourtière

​To help you get your Christmas menu ready, we’re bringing you a festive twist on a cozy classic: a delicious, protein-packed tourtière filling made with our handcrafted Noble Bean tempeh.

Easy to make, comforting to serve, and 100% delicious.

INGREDIENTS

(for 1 large tourtière or 4–6 servings):

  • 1 block Noble Bean tempeh (240 g), crumbled

  • 5 tbsp canola oil

  • 1 onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ cup diced carrots
    ½ cup diced celery
    1 â…“ cups diced potatoes
    2 ¼ cups sliced mushrooms
    ½ cup water
    5 tbsp tamari
    4 tsp thyme
    ¾ tsp black pepper
    ¼ tsp ground clove
    ¾ tsp allspice
    Pie crusts of choice, for assembling

20 minutes +
30 minutes baking time

4 to 6 servings

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Heat oil in a large skillet. Sauté onion until golden. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.

2. Add tempeh, carrots, celery, potatoes, mushrooms, spices, tamari, and water all at once. Stir well.

3. Cover and cook, stirring frequently, until potatoes and carrots are soft and the mixture begins to break down.

4. Remove from heat and let cool completely.

5. Fill pie crusts with the cooled mixture and bake according to your pie dough directions.
