TEMPEH HOT DOGS

No need for ultra-processed veggie dogs, this one keeps it
simple, real, and delicious.

INGREDIENTS

Ingredients

  • 1 block Noble Bean tempeh (240g), cut into 4 strips (about hot dog-sized)

  • 2 tbsp tamari

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • Black pepper, to taste

To serve:

  • 4 hot dog buns

  • Optional toppings: mustard, sauerkraut, pickles, ketchup, jalapeños

10 minutes (excluding marinating time)

4-5 servings

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Marinate the tempeh: In a shallow dish, whisk together tamari, olive oil, maple syrup, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper.
    Add the tempeh strips and marinate for at least 15–30 minutes.

  2. Grill the tempeh: Lightly oil the grill to prevent sticking.
    Grill the marinated tempeh strips over medium heat for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden with light grill marks.

  3. Toast the buns (optional): Place hot dog buns cut side down on the grill for 1–2 minutes until lightly toasted.

  4. Assemble: Add a grilled tempeh strip to each bun. Top with your favorite topping and condiments.
