Maple tempeh sandwich

Easy and healthy way to make a delicious gluten-free toasted sandwich!


  • Gluten-free panini bread

  • Alfalfa sprouts

  • Sunflower sprouts

  • Shredded carrots

  • Mayonnaise or veganaise



  • 240g package of Noble Bean Tempeh, thawed

  • 1 cup of water

  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • 3 tbsp tamari

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced


2 servings


  1. Thaw tempeh and remove from plastic packaging.

  2. Cut tempeh into equal parts and place in an oven safe baking dish.

  3. Combine marinade ingredients and pour over tempeh. Allow to marinate in the fridge for at least an hour.

  4. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  5. Place baking dish in the oven and bake marinated tempeh for 20 minutes.

  6. Flip each piece and bake for additional 20 minutes or until most of the marinade is absorbed.

  7. Grill Cannelle Panini bread in the toaster.

  8. Spread mayonnaise or vegenaise on the bread and add shredded carrots, alfalfa sprouts, sunflower sprouts and top with cooked tempeh.

  9. Add salt and pepper as desired and enjoy!
